NVIDIA SHIELD TV continues to improve. Adding new apps, games, features and enhancements.
The software upgrade also includes the latest security updates, new playback support, improved Bluetooth/wireless performance and the latest SHIELD accessory firmware updates.

Commercial-Free Recordings with Plex DVR
You can now automatically remove commercials from broadcast TV shows recorded over-the-air using Plex DVR.
VLC Adds Picture-in-Picture and 360o Video Support
Watch 360o videos on your TV, complete with spherical camera control. VLC also adds Picture-in-Picture, so you can browse your SHIELD while watching your videos.

Enhancements
- The latest monthly Android security updates, including mitigations for “Spectre” vulnerability.
- Support for playback of YUV 8 bit BT 2020 videos.
- New USB compatibility mode for users with attached USB storage/accessories to improve Bluetooth/wireless performance (Settings > System).
- Firmware update for SHIELD remote (2017) for improved responsiveness.
- Firmware update for SHIELD remote (rechargeable) to resolve recharging issues. If update fails, connect remote to charging cable and hold Home + Back + Voice Search buttons until LED flashes (~20 seconds).
