Wimmers to build the Honor brand in the European market

5 August 2016 – HUAWEI, the leading information and communications technology company, has appointed Eva Wimmers as the new President of Huawei Honor in Europe and Vice President of Honor Global. As part of her role, she will  establish the young brand in the European market and to build and expand its marketing, sales and brand.

Wimmers has over 20 years of experience, with brands including T-Systems, Buyin and T-Mobile. She was responsible for the successful establishment of Telekom’s private label products “T-Com” and T-Mobile’s “MDA”, amongst other projects.

George Zhao, President of Honor, comments“With Eva’s experience onboard, we will take the Honor brand and products to the next level in the European market. Wimmers has a proven track record of driving effective change within large and small international businesses and is an expert in building European and global trends, brands and partnerships.”

Honor is a smartphone youth brand with the mission to reach consumers aged 16 – 36. The state-of-the-art smartphones appeal to the demand of this tech-savvy target group. She will be leading an experienced team that consists of experts from different countries understanding the customer’s needs and lifestyle as they are digital natives themselves.
