Running a tight ship

Misco is an etailer that has gone through some major transformations over the past decade. The end result is a rare example of a technology company that is, so far, managing to grow through a recession.

We talk to general manager Sandy Price to find out a bit more about how Misco does business and what the secret is to making money in such a competitive sector.

Among the highlights of our interview are an insight into the philosophy of Misco's parent company - Systemax - and how Misco is resisting the temptation to cut corners on things like customer service while there's a recession on.

One revelation that may be of interest to HEXUS readers is that Misco is hiring salespeople and has adapted its IT infrastructure to enable them to work from home. Just remember you heard it here first - it's all part of the service.
