Lights!

And a look at the very top. The in-built carrying handle is quite comfortable, actually, and it needs to be. Fully laden, SCAN's ISOTOPE weighs in at just over 10KG. Perfectly acceptable for maneuvering around LANS, but a few KGs heavier than comparable SFF systems. You can see another vent at the top, just where the solitary 250GB hard drive and optical drive are located.

Accessing the innards is simply a matter of removing the two latches that hold the exterior on to the chassis. It's a two-part affair, with a single wraparound panel and a central section located right at the bottom. It takes no more than 30 seconds to reveal the ISOTOPE's inner sanctum. The shell had a mesh section sensibly placed just outside the GeForce 6800 GT PCI-Express 256MB video card. Part of the allure of the ISOTOPE, to some at least, is having it pre-modified to accommodate a series of lighting gadgets, ranging from a couple of cathodes through to neon string and, would you believe, a strobe light. The series of lighting even extends to creating multi-coloured patterns on the front.

The ISOTOPE's DOOM 3 homage continues. A rather dark picture, but you get the idea.

Lights and string going at full chat. It looks a lot cooler when viewed in person, believe me.

SCAN's used the bottom portion of the chassis to hide away the gaggle of wires required to keep the ISOTOPE blinking and beaming away.
