Introduction

Thinking back a year, stuck in a worldwide recession, many technology companies agonised over ways of diversifying their interests with an aim to adding new business.

At the start of 2009, XFX announced that it was going to break its NVIDIA-only product stack by selling ATI cards.

A little later, moving the core business outside of graphics and motherboards, the company stated intentions of creating a power-supply unit (PSU) designed to cater to the enthusiast.
