Introduction
We've seen a steady stream of Socket-AM2 motherboards enter the HEXUS.labs in the last month or so, which is no surprise given AMD's launch of the new form-factor in the middle of May. As you well know by now, NVIDIA also launched its new nForce 500-series chipsets at the same time, which includes the enthusiast 590 SLI, the performance gaming '570 SLI, high-performance '570 Ultra and mainstream '550.
Recently, we took our first look at a board incorporating the nForce 570 SLI core logic, MSI's K9N SLI Platinum which, while lacking a few enthusiast goodies, proved that it could perform almost as well as boards running the nForce 590 SLI chipset.
Today it's time for us to take another nForce 570 SLI-based board for a spin. Rather than a K9N, it's a KN9 (now that's going to get confusing)... Abit's KN9 SLI. We'll see how this board fares against several others and see if abit does anything different with nForce 570 SLI compared to MSI. Read on to see how our latest motherboard adventure went.
