The Display

15 inches of TFT goodness

Closer up

The TFT screen is amazingly thin at just 0.5cm thick, and is the most impressive piece of engineering that apple have made in this range, apart from its big brother, the 17 inch model. It has the smallest 'rim', and the brightest and clearest screen ever. Even in bright daylight the screen performs well, but it has to be at its maximum brightness for it to retain any clarity. The powerbook I have does not have any dead-pixels, which is never covered by the manufacturer when purchasing a new laptop. If 99% of the pixels in a 1280 by 854 screen were fully functional, that would still mean that nearly 11,000 were faulty. You can see how hard it is for any manufacturer to guarantee a perfect screen.
