Presentation, bundle, warranty

New brand, new box. It lists all the pertinent specs on the front.

Here's what you get:

Items CD containing drivers and electronic manual
RACE: WTCC (full game, DVD)
Quickstart guide
DVI dongle
6-pin PEG-to-Molex adapter
S-Video-to-composite cable
HDTV-Out (component) cable
Optional exhaust fan expansion bracket

The bundle is good for a midrange card and includes a full version of RACE: WTCC, a good-looking driving game that runs just fine on the card.

The hardware bundle is also good, making full use of the iChiLL 7900GS' outputs. A second DVI dongle wouldn't go amiss, however.

Warranty

Regular Inno3D cards are backed up by a 2-year warranty. The iChiLL series, though, is supported by 3-year cover that begins on the date of sale. We like the fact that the warranty is transferrable, should the card be sold on during the time it's covered.

RMA claims are handled exclusively by the (r)etailer the card was purchased from, and, as such, the speed of replacement is entirely down to just how good the vendor's customer service is; the faulty card will need to go back to Inno3D's H.Q in Hong Kong.

As always, and perhaps even more important in this case, only buy from companies you trust to support you after your money is taken and the card initially delivered.

Pre-benchmark summary

The Inno3D iChiLL 7900GS utilises a number of intelligent enthusiast-oriented features and ships with a street price of £110, which represents the average price for a default-clocked reference card, surprisingly.

The design, warranty, and pricing are all good, so let's now see how it compares against some healthy competition.
