Introduction

HEXUS has been fortunate enough to cast its roving eye over the newest technology over the last decade. Some of it has been bad, some reasonable, and some excellent.

The GeForce 8800 GTX falls into the latter category and we've taken a look at a number of retail SKUs from the likes of ASUS, Foxconn and XFX.

Today, though, we have two further 'GTX cards from unlikely sources. OCZ - the company normally associated with system memory and PSUs - has rekindled its graphics-card lineup by introducing an 8-series card; 5 generations on from its last GeForce SKU.

ECS has also signed up to the green team and is launching a top-to-bottom lineup of GeForce SKUs, so it made sense to request the very best in the range.

Let's see if these two companies - with specialties in other areas - can beat out the traditional NVIDIA partners with their GeForce 8800 GTXs. Read on to find out.
