Recipe: take one GeForce GTX 480, plug another in, install the driver for the second GPU, and then click on the SLI tab when prompted. Time to completion: 10 minutes.



Here we have two identical GeForce GTX 480s hooked up to an ASUS P6X58D motherboard on the two x16-supporting PCIe lanes.

Both GPUs run mighty hot when under load, and we recommend having a large side-mounted fan blow over both. We used a high-quality Corsair HX1000 PSU with no stability-related problems during the course of testing.



Can the combined might of two GeForce GTX 480s beat out the twin-GPU Radeon HD 5970? Keep on readin'.
