Initial impressions

At a quick glance, the P182 might not look much different to its predecessor. But don't be fooled - there has been a good few changes.

First, the size is somewhat different. The new case is about 3mm deeper but 20mm has been shaved off the top and 5mm from the width.

So, the overall dimensions of the P182 are 520(h) x 210(w) x 510(d) mm.

There has also been a slight (100g) weight-reduction.

The P182 tips the scales at 14kg compared to 14.1g for the P180.

However, the differences between the two cases are considerably greater than the figures would suggest - there are quite a few additional features and functions with the P182.

The P182 also brings a new colour to the range. The panels are finished in gun-metal black and that contrasts nicely with the case's dark black plastic trims.

For reasons we can't explain, the gun-metal finish looks a lot more substantial than the silver finish of the P180, even though the construction is fundamentally the same.
