Up top…cool!

It seems no-one builds a straightforward chassis anymore; I guess it’s the market’s thirst that causes companies to push designers harder and harder for something new, something innovative.

At first glance, Antec’s designers seem to have come up with the goods on the revised 900, with a massive, low-RPM 200mm fan shoe-horned into the top of the chassis. That's right, 20cm of cooling.

The large mesh fitted over the cooling behemoth stops any fingers getting caught and doesn’t cause a great deal of noise as a consequence. On the other hand, it’s quite literally the biggest dust trap ever fitted to a chassis.

Moving forward there is a storage tray at the top of the 900. It's marketed as a storage place for your MP3 player, and you know what, it’s really very useful.

I personally use a Creative Micro Photo 8GB MP3 player when I’m travelling, and the fact it ships with the shortest USB you’ve ever seen instantly proves Antec’s ideas can, and sometimes do, work.

In front of the tray are the power and rest buttons, separated by the usual ports for headphone, microphone, two USB 2.0 ports and a solitary FireWire.

That’s about it for up top. You're treated to more angled lines, though.
