External appearance – up top

When the Antec 900 was released back at the end of 2006, it was the first major chassis to feature a top-mounted 200mm fan. Not surprisingly, with the Antec 1200, a 200mm fan makes a re-appearance - under a thick honeycomb black mesh.

Unfortunately, it seems that the one big issue we had with the 900 is still here with its big brother. The mesh covering the fan, while perfectly suitable for protecting fingers, is no match for the biggest problem of all for chassis, dust.

Staying with the top - further forward we have the re-designed storage area for bits and pieces. Even though the chassis isn't actually that much deeper than its forerunner, it looks much bigger all of a sudden. Sadly, though, the rubber mat of the 900 is replaced with simple grooves in the plastic.
