Slicing Windows down to size

Apple, with intent to rain on Microsoft's Windows 7 pride parade, has released a series of spectacularly smug new 'Get a Mac' ads, which may leave you cringing to your core.

The three new, rather self satisfied Apple ads sport the same old frumpy PC man vs. the unbelievably cool, conceited, up his own OS Mac guy.

With Windows 7 being touted as the best thing since sliced bread, Apple is obviously on the defensive, setting its Snow Leopard OS up for a bit of a cat fight with its rival.

In one ad, entitled "PC news", the turgid looking Microsoft man hosts a TV news segment to show off what he expects to be the excited upgrade fever, as punters rush to the shops to shell out for a copy of Win 7.

To his dismay, however, the Stepford wives (and husbands) interviewed all gush that if they're going to have to upgrade anyway, why not just upgrade to "the computer rated number one in computer satisfaction?!"
