Just ahead of the weekend Asus emailed HEXUS to inform us about two new ROG Strix gaming monitors that it had readied. Both the monitors are 1800R curved and feature Asus Aura Sync ambient lighting and, more importantly, both are 1440p FreeSync VA panel monitors with screens larger than 30-inches in diagonal.

Asus ROG Strix XG32VQ

As you might have guessed from the nomenclature, this is a 32-inch monitor. It sports an 1800R curved panel with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. The VA panel provides 125 per cent sRGB coverage and a 4ms grey to grey response time. Gamers might be please with its wide ranging vertical refresh range of 48-144Hz and its Adaptive-Sync (FreeSync) compatibility. Full specs are here.

Asus ROG Strix XG35VQ

For an even wider field of view you might be interested in the 35-inch ROG Strix XG35VQ curved gaming monitor. The premise behind this monitor is much like the one above. It sports an 1800R curved panel with a resolution of 3440x1440 pixels. This time around the VA panel is capable of reproducing 100 per cent sRGB coverage. Again we have 4ms response time. Refresh rate performance is a little less impressive with support for 48-100Hz Adaptive-Sync (FreeSync). Full specs are here.

Both the monitors feature Asus Aura Sync lighting on the back and a customisable light signature projection for gaming-inspired aesthetics from the base. The monitor stands are adjustable for extensive swivel, tilt, and height adjustment. As gaming monitors, Asus includes its GamePlus modes for Crosshair/Timer/FPS Counter/Display Alignment, and eight GameVisual modes including; Scenery/Racing/Cinema/RTS/RPG/FPS/sRGB Modes/MOBA Mode/User Mode. A USB hub is built-into these monitors and they feature a variety of HDMI and DP connectors. Low blue light and flicker free technology are also present and correct.

If you are interested in either of the above anti-glare curved gaming monitors they will become available in the UK from the middle to the end of December. Recommended prices for the Asus ROG Strix XG32VQ and XG35VQ are £549.99 and £799.99 respectively.

It enhances the reflection and helps you look slimmer :p
I'm hoping Aura sync is as good as, if not better than Ambilight, which turned out to be much more than just a gimmick (in my eyes at least…. wish I hadn't got rid of the old setup, clunky and wire-strewn though it was)…
Good price. Look like same specs as Samsung C32HG70 but hopefully true flicker free? (And Ambient light)
Now we just need G-Sync
