MSI's super-slim X-Series has been making waves with its sleek MacBook Air-like aesthetics, but the X320 seen at CES earlier this year is little more than a Atom-based netbook in a sexy-looking shell.

The X340 Pro, mind you, is notably different. Pictured below and out on display prior to CeBIT's opening day, the X340 Pro houses Intel's CULV platform - consisting of a low-power Core 2-derived processor and Intel's GS45 + ICH9M chipset.

Taking a step up from the increasingly popular netbook segment, the X340 Pro offers a 13.3in screen with a useful 1,336x768 resolution. Finer details on the processor remain unknown, but we believe it could be a single-core Core 2 Solo processor clocked at 1.4GHz.

What's important here, we feel, is that Intel's CULV processors could spark an onslaught of super-slim notebooks in 2009. Just take a look at this beauty from the side.
