Alternate.de has no in-stock cards, as far as we can tell, but a few other etailers do.  Stock, then, is patchy in Europe and pricing remains static, mainly down to the etailers sticking to MSRPs on launch day.

The same MSRP is true of the States. Newegg has more in-stock cards than pre-order, intimating that general availability is reasonable, if not great.

We'll be turning our attention to the Radeon HD 5850 in a separate article.

scan still overpriced :/ thats a real shame
It's weird that the cheapest place for the 5xxx series is a store that is usually one of the more expensive places.

Wish they'd hurry up with my 5850 mind, they keep putting back the ‘expected’ date. Guessing 5850's will be like gold dust considering the bang:buck they offer
The 5870's are overpriced abit IMO.
I'm waiting until the 5850's go down to Ā£150 before I buy one. That gives me plenty time to see what Nvidia's GPU will be capable of aswell.

Agreed, against the RRP. I guess they're focussed on matching the local in-stock competition whilst benefiting from the early stock shortages.
Definitely! A 5850 for 150 quid would be awesome, I guess we will have to wait till after the GT300 range has been released though?
