With embarrassing security breaches a regular fixture in the news headlines these days, ESM has today launched its new super-secure X-wall Files portable hard drive, a high-security USB device that boasts military-grade encryption to keep its confidential contents safe from prying eyes, whether in the office or on the go. Equipped with the latest technology designed to protect Data-at-Rest (DAR), the X-wall Files device provides users with military-grade, hardware real-time full disk AES encryption, without any performance loss.
The hardware AES real-time cryptographic processing power of the X-wall Files USB hard drive encrypts the entire disk drive, with security levels ranging from 128bit to 256bit. Not only are legal mandates increasingly demanding such high levels of protection, but a marked increase in data loss – combined with the significant legal liability associated with the negligent disclosure of sensitive data – is also costing UK businesses billions of pounds each year.
"The X-Wall Files USB drive is perfect for anyone who needs to be absolutely sure that their data is protected from disclosure at all times," says Gerry Holman, ESM. "Company executives, law enforcement, solicitors, politicians, accountants – all of these people can now use the X-wall Files drive to carry their sensitive data securely, safe in the knowledge that the contents of the disk will be kept 100 percent secure, protected and private, even if the device is lost or stolen."
Because the X-wall Files USB drive uses the world's most advanced hardware cryptographic processor, users don't need to worry about the frustrating degradation of performance that is typically associated with software encryption. Plus, as the X-wall Files USB drive uses only hardware encryption, there is no need to worry about virus attacks, firmware upgrades, or software validation/expiration dates either.
Security is managed via User and Administrator passwords in order to provide authentication. Keys will only be generated and delivered to the cryptographic processor upon successful matching of the passwords. The Keys will then enable X-wall Files' real-time AES cryptographic processor for real-time data ciphering. All passwords and AES keys are securely stored inside the drive.
The X-Wall Files USB drive is available in either a Premier Version for general users, or as a Professional Package for corporate, enterprise, and government users. Although both versions offer the same password key management utility for authentication, the Professional package offers a number of important of corporate key management functions, including the ability to create an encrypted partition that remains hidden until the authentication is successful.
The X-wall Files USB drive is extremely easy to use, with a user-friendly interface that makes it easy to set up and administer the key management process. Its single set-up procedure for all mobile operation makes it a powerful single chip solution. The device can be used with Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 2000.
