PRESS RELEASE

(London, 6th November, 2013) - Security expert Avira announced today that its Avira Endpoint Security for small business has won the 2013 ‘Approved Business Product Award' from AV-Comparatives. The October 2013 Review of IT Security Suites for Business Users from AV-Comparatives was released last week.

The test scenario for this evaluation was designed to emulate a typical small business: a single-site company network running Windows Server 2012 and +/-25 client PCs running a mix of Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 8.  This size of company probably would not have a full-time IT director, so AV-Comparatives evaluated installation and monitoring features of Avira's software accordingly.

Avira Endpoint Security impressed judges with its reliable and trouble-free operation during testing, its straight forward installation, and the high standard of documentation and client interface. They further stated that both the MMC-based console and software feel very familiar and comfortable to IT professionals, while non-expert administrators will require only minimal training.  They also acknowledged the benefits of finding all client software packages available in one area of the website.

Avira is the second largest anti-virus software company in the world, with over 100 million users. The company aims to protect both consumers and businesses from the growing threat of viruses, and provides a number of free as well as paid for products and support services.

"Avira's industrial-grade detection rates and reliability, coupled with its consumer-friendly design and interfaces, makes it a perfect product for small businesses," said Barry van der Dong, Sales Director, Northern Europe and UK  for Avira. "Avira Endpoint Security protects both your PCs and your file server from viruses, worms, Trojans, adware, spyware and other malware - all under one simple user license. We are pleased to be recognized by AV-Comparatives for our outstanding small business security software."
