PRESS RELEASE

Amsterdam, 20 August 2018 – Display specialist AOC will present brand new additions to their premium gaming monitor line-up AGON at this year’s gamescom held at the Cologne Exhibition Centre in Germany. The new AGON 3 Series monitors with their sleek, futuristic award-winning design will debut with two curved 27”, QHD monitors: the AG273QCX with FreeSync 2 HDR and PC-VESA DisplayHDR 400 support, 1 ms MPRT, 144 Hz refresh rate and the AG273QCG with G-SYNC support, 1 ms GtG and 165 Hz refresh rate.

Revamped, reimagined

AOC’s AGON line-up has been much appreciated by pro-gamers and esports players in many tournaments ever since their debut in 2016 with 144 Hz FreeSync and G-Sync monitors such as the AG271QX and AG271QG, or 240 Hz refresh rate monitors like the AG251FZ and AG251FG. Now, AOC’s AGON 3 Series speak a new design language: an aggressive curvature of 1800R combined with the 3-sides-frameless design immerses and veritably draws gamers in. Designed with LAN-parties and large gaming conventions in mind, the AGON 3 Series comes with one click-mechanism for extra easy assembly and with a carrying handle built in to the stand. The redesigned, angular V-shaped stand takes up less desk space and offers full ergonomic adjustments in height and swivel. Highly customisable ring shaped RGB lights (AGON Game Lights), a new, redesigned controller (AGON Game Pad) for on-the-fly access to various features, and the beloved headset-holder now on both sides to offer more flexibility complete the new design approach to the AGON 3 Series. Thanks to its jaw-dropping design, the AG273QCG was honoured with the Red Dot Design Award 2018.

Upgrade to legendary

AOC’s new AG273QCG and AG273QCX monitors do not only bring visual freshness to the table, but also new display technologies, latest innovations and all the necessary improvements gamers have longed for.

Spec-wise, the Freesync™2 HDR model, the 27” AG273QCX is equipped with a curved VA panel in native QHD (2560x1440) resolution, 144 Hz refresh rate, 4 ms GtG / 1 ms MPRT and wide colour gamut of 90% DCI-P3 coverage. Supporting the PC-VESA DisplayHDR 400 standard, the AG273QCX offers 400 cd/m² maximum brightness and brings high dynamic range content for realistic and immersive gaming. Thanks to the AMD Radeon Freesync™2 HDR technology, image content can be mapped directly to the monitor’s native colour gamut and luminance range to preserve HDR image quality, while avoiding inefficient tone mapping and preserving the low latency.

The AG273QCG is equipped with a curved 27” TN panel in native QHD (2560x1440) resolution, an even higher 165 Hz refresh rate, 1 ms GtG response time, 400 cd/m² brightness and NVIDIA G-SYNC support.

AOC also offers many improvements that gamers so far could only achieve by using additional software: AOC’s Dial Point will place an aiming indicator, so gamers can always have a crosshair– even in FPS games that consciously avoid or enlargen them – and thus can precisely aim where they need to whenever required. Gamers can also place a Frame Per Second counter on one of the 4 edges without the need of GPU software or additional console commands. Thanks to AOC Game Color, users can increase/decrease the saturation of the image depending on their preferences for better grey level and picture detail without the need of re-shaders or vibrancy enhancement settings in GPU software. These can be changed very easily on the fly with the redesigned QuickSwitch controller. Both monitors also come with eye-protection and comfort features, Flicker-Free technology and Low Blue Light mode.

The AOC AGON AG273QCG (G-SYNC) is expected to be available in Europe starting from November 2018, and the AOC AGON AG273QCX (Freesync™2 HDR) from December 2018.

Visitors can experience the entire AGON range in the Entertainment area in Hall 10.1 Stand E041. Each day, AOC will put on a varied pogram at their booth for the gamescom visitors, including an appearance of CS:GO players from the G2 ESPORTS team, sponsored by AOC Gaming.
