MSI, the leading motherboard and graphics card manufacturer in the world, announced today that it has begun shipping the new updated B3 revision Intel H67 and P67 chipset based motherboards. As part of an extensive support and exchange program implimented by MSI following Intel identifying a flaw in their original chipset design, the new revision boards have begun shipping from factories this week.

How To Identify MSI New Revision Mainboards

Consumers can now identify the latest MSI H67/P67 motherboards equipped with the Intel B3 stepping chipset by the sticker "MSI B3 Stepping Ready". This provides a more confident way to purchase your next generation motherboard.

In addition to the B3 sticker, each new revision mainboard will have further B3 branding as part of the product code and retail box.

UK-based customers who currently own a potentially affected motherboard will soon be able to register with MSI UK to exchange their board for an updated version.More news on exactly how to do this will follow in the coming week.

In the meantime, as IntelĀ® indicated the design error only occurs with certain SATA 3Gb/s ports, MSI has created the SATA Verifier utility to help customers clearly identify all unaffected SATA 6Gb/s ports for each relevant product. This information can be found HERE.
