Alienware Offers Licensing Programme for Multiple x16 PCI Express Expansion Slot Technology

Athlone, Ireland – 12th October 2004 – Seeking to enhance the graphics performance of systems industry wide, Alienware, the leading manufacturer of high-performance computer systems, announced a licensing programme for X2, a proprietary and patent pending technology for including multiple x16 PCI Express expansion slots on a single motherboard. This license is being offered through Alienware Labs Corporation, the research and development arm of Alienware Corporation.

More and more software applications are being written to take advantage of the processing power of modern graphics processing units and X2 was developed with this trend in mind.
