Incredible?

The first deliveries of HTC's refreshed Incredible S handset are set to arrive at The Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy this weekend.

HTC only unveiled the refreshed mobile last week at MWC, which will be exclusive to the 2 chains in the UK, for the time being at least.

The handset is available to pre-order on the Carphone Warehouse's website and the first phones ordered have a release date of 26 February, Tech Radar reported. However, the phone will apparently hit the shops from 3 March, which is still pretty soon.

According to the shop's website, the Incredible S is available on Vodafone and O2 from £30 a month on a 24 month contract or £499.95 for an unlocked version. The priciest contract seems to be from O2, where consumers will have to fork out £61.28 a month for 18 months, although that includes unlimited minutes.

HEXUS forum users were relatively unimpressed with the handset when it was unveiled at MWC and the mobile will now apparently launch with Android 2.2 Froyo instead of hanging on for Gingerbread. Presumably an update will be released shortly.

HTC reportedly said it is keen to get the mobile to market straight away, but with plenty of Gingerbread handsets already out or on their way, will this strategy really lure punters in?

The handset itself has a pretty good spec with a 4 inch screen, 8MP camera, dual LED flash and DNLA connectivity, but is not one of the more exciting announcements from MWC, with many people going gaga for gaming and 3D handsets.

Waiting for the Desire Y, that will follow on from the Z and sort out all the stupid flaws it has and change the 3.7 screen to a 4" + screen.
