Fantasy violence is great

Killing enemies is fairly simple. By manually aiming your gun or locking onto a target you’ll bring them to their knees or take their head clean off and by aiming at certain body parts you can pick and choose those parts you’d like to puncture or take clean off. These bursts of violence are extremely satisfying and the larger fight scenes, that see you taking on dozens of enemies single-handed, can be extremely intense and bloody encounters.

Scarface The World is Yours is totally unrealistic when it comes to violence. There is no way that one person could take so much gun-fire from the enemy, but Tony’s health meter seems to last forever. As the meter gets lower you’ll notice that his nice suit becomes totally stained with blood and he’ll start to limp, but as long as you use the lock-on function it’s not likely that you’ll die too often. The lock-on targeting system isn’t perfect and if there is more than one enemy in site it’s not uncommon to lock onto a target that is in the distance rather than the one who is standing right next to you.

Apart from these gun wielding rampages, there’s plenty on offer including driving from point to point in order to carry out or pick up missions. Driving has been handled well, and there are some decent car chases through the packed streets to be had and once you’ve got some money in your pocket you’ll be able to pick up better cars as you rise up the ranks. The feeling of picking up your first decent car and driving around the sun drenched streets of Miami, listening to the nostalgic soundtrack with $50K in your back pocket is enough to make you hungry to earn more money, so it won’t be long before your back on the streets carrying out all sorts of objectives in the pursuit for fast cash.

The bulk of Scarface The World is Yours will see you trying to earn money in order to rise up the ranks. Tony starts off his career buying and selling relatively small quantities of coke and deals in the game are carried out through a hustle meter which you’ll need to press your button at exactly the right moment in order to secure the best price for your goods. It’s a fairly boring and repetitive action that adds little to the game and rather unfortunately it’s something that you’ll need to do whenever you need to strike a deal.

Other ways of earning cash and reputation on the streets range from taking over businesses to popping a cap in the ass of local dealer. As you progress you’ll see the difference the money has made as you unlock better cars, weapons and start getting calls from ladies who are attracted to your power. There is a steady progression in the game, but its hard work to get to the top as you’ll have to carry out dozens of missions in order to rake in the necessary cash, then of course you’ll need to do something with all that dirty money.
