Shove his head in the oven

Back to the game and Luca immediately introduces you to the game controls, by setting a few simple tasks to improve your fighting skills. Hand to hand combat is fairly unremarkable, there are a few nice twists, such as being able to execute your enemies but, overall the controls are disappointing. In a Fight Night-style you’ll need to wiggle your thumbstick to wind up the punches, it can take some getting used to, and punches often appear to land wherever they feel like it.

The control issues appear on numerous occasions. You’ll grab an opponent, wiggle your thumbstick in an attempt to beat him to a pulp, only to be attacked by one of his pals. The time it takes to let loose of an opponent, so you can deal with his irritating chum, is far too long. You’ll probably take a couple of shots in the back before you’ve managed to let go.

On the other hand, interrogating an opponent is a great deal of fun.

You’ll be interrogating local business men frequently in order to generate steady revenue. In each of the city’s stores you can attempt to convince the owner to pay you protection money. Normally they’ll decline, so you need to show them why they need to pay protection money. You have the option to smash the shop to pieces, a personal favourite of mine, or, slap the poor man around until he submits. The threat of shoving the baker’s head into one of his own ovens is a nice touch, or you could just take the baseball bat out of your back pocket and crack him across the face a few times, that should do the trick. After a few interrogations you’ll immediately slip into the mindset of a gangster.
