Activision, the videogame publisher behind the likes of the Call of Duty and Guitar Hero franchise, has launched a new studio that will be focused entirely on producing games for Wii.

The first games to be released under the peculiarly named 'Wee 1st' label include Little League World Series 2008, Rapala Fishing Frenzy, and Dancing with the Stars: Get Your Dance On.

"The Wii is introducing new audiences to gaming," said Dave Oxford, Activision Publishing. "Clearly, the Wii's accessible controls are changing how the audience plays games and how we look at game design. This initiative is designed to showcase games that take full advantage of the Wii's capabilities."

The latest casual games label comes following the announcement that EA has also released a label that will be focused entirely on Wii games. “EA SPORTS All-Play” will feature simplified versions of its Tiger Woods, NBA Live, Madden and FIFA franchises.

At least Activision are still releasing top titles for the Wii.

I think though, like I've said before. Enough of the casual games already. Wii market is virtually flooded with casual games as it is. Even my kids are bored of casual games and are wantingtitles they can sit down and work through.

So far Ratatouille has been our best purchase on the Wii itself, whole family loves it. We have started getting the retro games moreso now, just recently purchased Ocarina of Time and Mario 64.

We aint getting anymore casual type games!!!

Yep far too many. I liked Ratatouille as well. In my mind some of the developers use the term ‘ casual games’ just so they can quickly chuck something cute together cheaply so that parents buy them for their kids.
