Head For Downing Street!

According to IGNIQ.com, the next Grand Theft Auto game may be set in London. An employee of Rockstar North in Glasgow alledgedly contacted the website via email to reveal the following information:

"The '3 Island' system will be replaced by a new North, East, South, West system, and the main character will be an ex-gangster starting off in the rough-and-tumble east end of London.Unlocked regions are to include the North End, South End, and West End, in order. The game is supposed to be about 60% finished, with the graphics and physics engines both completed. The focus is now mainly on the game's story component."

A London map was featured as part of an expansion pack in 1999 so this is certainly a possibility. This would be fantastic news for UK based GTA fans who will relish the idea of playing the game in a City that is familiar. Just imagine the possibilities, mowing down the guards outside Buckingham Palace, defacing Nelson's column, or taking a speed boat down the Thames.

There has been no official word from Rockstar.
