Jedi Knights, Sith Warriors and Imperial Agents of the world will be able to unite in the upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game, Star Wars The Old Republic, as Bioware confirms servers will not be region locked.

The developer does, however, warn about latency problems.

"There are no plans to ‘region lock’ or ‘IP block’ players from the game," says BioWare Senior Online Community Manager Stephen Reid. "You may experience some latency issues if you’re not playing in a launch territory."

A firm release date for Star Wars The Old Republic has yet to be announced, with a tentative “2011 Holiday release” currently stamped on the MMO. If you're really eager to start playing as soon as possible, Bioware has promised that those who pre-order the game will also receive early access to the game client.

EA hosts a press conference at GamesCom on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 where we’re expecting to hear more about a launch date. Stay tuned.

I was really looking forward to seeing what this has to offer,

However the rumour is that the Sub fee will be around £15 per month, if that is true i wont be getting it …

call me cynical but it seems to make sense as they have released for pre order but no mention of sub fee !
15 squid a month? Isn't that nearly double what the most successful MMORPG ever charges?

I guess GL had to get his cut :o
^^ I know,

But why not release a rough figure, as they have been quizzed about the sub fee but as yet have failed to answer …..

again my reasoning would be that if they tell people £15 (ish) they they will see alot of cancelled pre-orders, otherwise why not just say the same as the rest or there or there abouts …

They “MUST” know how much its going to be.

However i do hope its not true …
I think I was paying about £10 a month for STO before I stopped…. But is almost as bad as National Rail inflation…
