The news on HEXUS.gaming normally involves the latest game announcement or how much money a publisher has made in the last quarter, but today we'd like you to spare a thought for Jamie Tidswell who was rushed to hospital after collapsing at his home in Acomb, near York. The 21 year old later died from a condition called viral myocarditis, an inflammation of his heart muscles.

We've been browsing around numerous gaming forums and it's clear to see that Jamie was a respected member of the online gaming community and e-sports scene and was regularly seen playing the likes of Counter Strike, Day Of Defeat and World of Warcraft. Jamie also played for numerous gaming clans , including JAC, extreme and Evil Monkeys and had entered many online tournaments in his gaming career.

A book of condolences has opened today at the York press site.
