HEXUS.E3 Following on from Microsoft's Vice President's Peter Moore's verbal attack on Sony last week, when he said ,"Tell me why you would buy a US$600 PS3? People are going to buy two (consoles). They're going to buy an Xbox 360 and they're going to buy a Wii ... for the price of one PS3." Sony's Phil Harrison has responded by also recommending that gamers buy a Nintendo Wii as a second console.

In an interview with Gamepro.com Harrison has said that "Nintendo will be the second system consumers purchase after PlayStation 3." Harrison considers the next-gen console war to be between Micosoft and Sony and not Nintendo.

On the subject of the price of the PS3 he said, "I know what Peter was getting at with his price point issue but he's not comparing apples to oranges. It's clearly a case that PlayStation 3's price is justified by PlayStation 3's value. That's what consumers base their purchasing decisions on - value. What we have in addition to a great game system is a Blu-Ray player, a network platform, a new controller, and HDD in every system combined in an unbelievably compelling package. And frankly I'm amazed that we can do it so cheaply." he concluded.

Nintendo must be loving the extra exposure!

Nice to see MS giving Ninty a bit of a hand..

Sony are grasping at straws, i think :p
Sony are deffo on their back foot - but considering that many of us were laughing at Nintendos funny new controller thingy and the silly Wii name theres still a chance that Sony could pull it off.

<though my money is going directly to Nintendo!>

IMO its these two facts which will push nintendo further. A name which REALLY stands out and everyone will remember and this new controller is going to be alot of fun :P

just my opinion ofc ^ ^
Yeah - thats what I mean - they (Nintendo) are having the last laugh and they have played it incredibly well - everyone loves Wii right, I know that I do :) But perhaps Sony may also be playing it well, perhaps people will want a console which doubles as a Blu-ray HD media player?? Dunno, time will tell I guess.
I've got to admit though, the name does grow on you - i'm not taking the mick out of Nintendo now i've seen the E3 reviews..
