Lots to see and do

To start off with, the halls have been rejigged so that companies with similar products are in the same place. In the Software Entertainment section in Halls 2, 3 and 5, console providers and leading publishers present the latest video and computer games. Hall 4 houses hardware innovations and accessories and a new tube walkway between Halls 4 and 5 should help getting from one place to another less hectic. Personally, I’m going to hang around halls 2, 3 and 5 at lunchtime and see if I can’t start a food fight between the EA and Ubi stands… always good for a laugh.

As well as browsing the stands, playing the very latest games and collecting all the giveaways, visitors can enjoy some of the events being laid on for GC 2008.

Once again, GC family in Hall 2 sets out to open the door to the digital gaming world for teachers, parents and beginners, focusing on child-appropriate games and media literacy. Headlined "Level 1 - Learning to Play", the games arena offers interactive competitions. In the five game zones "Learning", "Multiplayer", "Children", "Teens" and "Family", visitors can test out the latest educational games, family and children's software. Media experts like Prof. Hartmut Warkus, media educational theory professor at Leipzig University, will be on hand to explain the options and answer any questions.
