15 UK video game developers, including Codemasters, EA and Blitz Games, will be kicking off a new campaign this week aimed at putting pressure on the government to provide tax relief to their studios.

According to reports from Develop, the ‘Game-Up’ campaign, which is backed by trade association Tiga and publisher association ELSPA, believe that the UK should introduce tax breaks, a scheme that is currently underway in other regions, for UK development studios.

Develop write:

Games Up will lobby both the media and politicians about an increasingly unbalanced playing field weighted against UK developers. Key evidence will include the Quebec region's 37.5 per cent tax rebates, the recent decision by the US state of Georgia to introduce a 20 per cent tax refund, and also last year's move by the EU to legalise France's 'cultural' 20 per cent tax break on games production.
