Review: Apple iPod

However useless to the functionality, I feel that the packing the iPod comes in needs more exposure.  It is packed in a very nice cube that splits open to reveal the iPod, cables and everything else.

Below is a picture of the remote and various items located in the left half of the cube.



Physical Differences

The size and different control layout is instantly obvious.  Apple has given way to nice smooth rounded edges rather than the old brick layout, and reduced the height of the transparent layer of plastic.  The new layout has located the controls at the top and the scroll wheel at the bottom, and it is very easy to use, but users of the older model will have to get used to this new layout.

On the left is the older 20GB model and the new 15GB model on the right.



You can see from the images below the difference in thickness, which also allows for a lighter iPod. However, the reduction in height of the unit has not changed much.
