Our favourite giant-green superhero, the Incredible Hulk, is going to be smashing his way back onto the big screen on June 13th. Having seen the latest trailer for Louis Leterrier's movie, starring Edward Norton as Bruce Banner, I'm fairly optimistic.

However, that hasn't stopped Hulk-fans from issuing widespread criticism in regards to the CGI Hulk, pictured below. The animated Hulk in Ang Lee's 2003 movie suffered similar complaints, though, personally, I thought - and still think - the Hulk looked about right.

Nonetheless, Swedish digital artist, Jonas Thornqvist, has taken the time to model his own version of the Hulk. The result, to our surprise, is an animated Hulk that looks about as good as we've ever seen.

Thornqvist, who detailed his work in a forum thread over at CGSociety.org, used 3ds max, mental ray and Photoshop to create the stunning render.

It leaves us pondering, is Thornqvist's animated Hulk better than those created by Hollywood studios?
