New Pogo Sat Nav and Camera Detector systems set to put competitors in the shade

Discerning drivers tired of bad mapping, false camera alerts, outdated databases and cheap looking products have now had their wishes fulfilled

Newly launched by Pogo (http://www.pogogps.com/) are the Pogo Drive and the Pogo Alert.

Pogo Drive
The Pogo Drive is a high quality Sat Nav system with built in camera locator. The Pogo Drive uses the highly regarded NAVTEQ mapping system and the camera database is updated 3.5 times per week on average - whereas many models update their database four times per year.

Pogo Alert
The Pogo Alert is the definitive speed trap detector that warns drivers of all fixed speed cameras, including Gatso cameras, Watchman, Specs average speed cameras, Truvelo cameras, Speed curb and DS2 Speedmaster cameras and accident blackspots - as well as mobile ‘safety vans’ and mobile laser guns.

Pedigree
Pogo is the new name for Origin Technologies. The Origin b2 camera detector was the undisputed daddy of its kind and won independent tests against rivals in outlets including Auto Express, Autocar, BMW Car and REVS magazines, Top Gear Online and the Pulling Power and Fifth Gear TV shows.

The Pogo products can be purchased online or from authorised resellers. Find out more by clicking here: http://www.pogogps.com/.

Full details of the new Pogo range are below.

Origin has been producing award-winning driver safety information systems for over six years and its products have dominated the top spots in independent group tests year after year.

Origin has now re-branded as Pogo and launched two new products – the integrated navigation and speed camera location system Pogo Drive, and the ultimate satellite-driven speed camera location system, the Pogo Alert.

The Pogo Drive combines full feature colour, touch-screen street level satellite navigation with advanced safety camera and accident blackspots alerts, in a stylish compact ‘plug & play' design.

Pogo Drive

The system uses NAVTEQ mapping navigation technology - widely regarded as the most advanced and reliable available – with seven digit postcode search and 2D and 3D mapping. For ultimate safety, Pogo Drive uses the industry-leading Origin camera location database, which is updated an average of 3.5 times per week making it the most reliable database available. Many combined Sat Nav and speed camera location systems use databases that are updated around four times per year, meaning that their reliability and their usefulness is seriously compromised.

The intuitive system is designed to be as easy-to-use as possible and to work straight out of the box. It includes a Safety Camera only mode for when drivers don’t need navigation assistance, and a fast processor ensures that the Pogo Drive instantly reacts to user input and screen changes.

The Pogo Alert GPS camera detector also comes with a full colour LCD display and a laser sensor for the detection of laser based speed traps. This sensor is easily removed meaning the system is totally future-proof against future legislation (which may eventually outlaw laser detection). Pogo Alert warns drivers of all fixed speed cameras, including Gatso cameras, Watchman, Specs average speed cameras, Truvelo cameras, Speed curb and DS2 Speedmaster cameras and accident blackspots; as well as mobile ‘safety vans’ and mobile laser guns.

Drivers using Pogo products can be certain that the history and experience of Origin and the latest technology and beautiful design of the Pogo products have combined to make the most advanced and reliable driver information products on the market today.

The Pogo Drive and Pogo Alert products can be purchased through Pogo and Origin dealers UK wide as well as in Ford, Saab and Vauxhall dealers. It is also available at the Pogo web site at http://www.pogogps.com/.

Editors Notes

Pogo is the new brand name of Origin Technologies Ltd.

Origin was founded in 2000 by entrepreneur Tim Rock. Rock spotted a requirement for an affordable and accurate way of detecting the increasing number of speed cameras on the UK's roads and went on to create the most critically acclaimed products of their type to date.

He was also involved in commissioning widely quoted research by MORI into driver's attitudes about speed limits and speed trap detectors in order to back up a report to the government.

Origin’s flagship unit the Origin b2 won independent tests against its rivals in Top Gear Online, Autocar Magazine, Auto Express Magazine, BMW Car Magazine, REVS Magazine, The Pulling Power and Fifth Gear TV shows, etc.

Today’s brand new Pogo products are testament to this pedigree and the company predicts them to be as successful at winning awards as their Origin predecessors.
