PRESS RELEASE

Reading, June, 2014: Huawei, the leading information and communications technology company, today proudly announce the sale of one million YouView set-top boxes via their exclusive partnership with TalkTalk. Huawei were appointed as TalkTalk's exclusive hardware supplier at the launch of YouView in 2012.

The milestone marks an important chapter in the hugely successful strategic partnership between Huawei and TalkTalk that has spanned six years, with the exclusive partnership in set-top boxes for TalkTalk since 2012 when it began.

Earlier this year, Huawei launched the YouView DN371T, an entirely new generation of set-top box, offering seamless integration between digital, terrestrial and Internet television. The box includes a 500GB YouView high definition personal video recorder that can record up to 300 hours of standard and 125 hours of HD programmes.

Users of the YouView DN371T can access more than 70 digital TV channels via a 15-day TV guide, with catch-up services available through an easy-to-use seven day scroll-back programme guide. Standard pause, record and rewind features are bolstered by seamlessly integrated search features, as well as single-button series-link recording, and remote recording option via the free YouView app for mobile devices

Huawei has recorded remarkable growth in its set-top box business since its birth in 2004, with more than 15 service providers now taking its solutions globally. In the past five years, it has recorded compound annual growth of 40% per annum with global shipments totalling 33 million units.

Huawei UK and Ireland Executive Vice President Mark Mitchinson said of the partnership: "We're currently enjoying a sensational summer of sport and it's great to know so many British homes are using our technology to ensure they have the best viewing experience. Working with TalkTalk has proved to be an extremely successful partnership and we look forward to continuing this to help to bring YouView, via our cutting edge hardware, to many more homes in Britain".

Tristia Harrison, Managing Director for Consumer at TalkTalk added: " Our partnership with Huawei has played a key role in YouView from TalkTalk becoming Britain's fastest growing TV service, with over one million TV customers in just 18 months.  We are looking forward to continuing our collaborative relationship to bring more homes across Britain the very best TV and family entertainment."

About TalkTalk

At TalkTalk we're committed to making Britain better off. Since entering the market with free broadband in 2006, we have consistently provided the country's best value-for-money TV, broadband, mobile and home phone.

We have helped drive down the average price of broadband dramatically, benefitting not only our 4 million customers, but allowing consumers today to pay nearly half of what they did then, whilst also getting more for their money. TalkTalk continues to offer Britain's lowest priced packages and is the only UK broadband provider that offers totally unlimited broadband for all packages.

Having launched our popular TV service in 2012 we reached one million TV customers in May 2014. This rapid growth makes us Britain's fastest growing TV service, having added more TV customers over the last five quarters than BT, Sky and Virgin Media combined.

We also continue to lead in industry innovation, particularly in keeping our customers safe online. We lead the way for the industry with the launch of HomeSafeTM, our free groundbreaking whole home security and safety service, now active in more than 1.2 million homes. In May 2014 we came together in a world first with our competitors to launch Internet Matters, a not-for-profit organisation to help parents protect their children online.

Supporting charities and social initiatives using technology for good has always been important to us and we are co-founding partners of Go ON UK. We've been running the TalkTalk Digital Heroes Awards for seven years and have helped over 78 unique charitable causes that benefit their local community through technology.
