Another HP horde is upon us

Endless variety from the HP labs

This summer will see PC retaliers swamped with HP notebooks as the company is set to release over 14 notebook PCs and upgrade their HP Mini line.

With a new look in mind, the latest HP notebooks are looking the part, all brushed aluminium and etched metal, along with limited edition wallpapers designed by world recognised artists.

As with most technology these days, the fashion is for customisation, and the latest machines from HP look to be no different. As VP and GM of consumer notebooks Kevin Frost said: "With these new designs, we offer customers a broad portfolio of notebook PCs and Minis that are innovative on the outside and the inside. Each notebook provides a unique experience for the customer and allows customers to express their personality."

The high-end notebooks, the Envy 14 and Envy 17, both boast a powerful Intel processors, and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5830 discrete graphics capability, not to mention backlit keyboards, slot-loading optical drives, HP TrueVision HD webcams, mini DisplayPort Connectors and the latest in wireless and connectivity options.

Both notebooks also come with Beats Audio, a high-performance sound software technology developed by HP and Beats by Dr. Dre, aimed at improving sound quality.  R&B fans get your notebooks ready for the revolution!

The HP Pavilion series is ranges from entry level machines to mid-range performance PCs. The HP dm3 and dm4 are basic level machines featuring HP's new etched metal finish, and both are under 1 inch thick and weigh under 4.4 pounds, yet while the dm3 offers 7 hours battery life, the slightly more feature-filled dm4 has only 6.5 hours.

HP's dv Pavilion models run upwards in performance quite regularly and the whole range will be available in a variety of obscure colours like black cherry, champagne and Sonoma red. While all high performance, the HP dv5 and dv6 play second and third fiddle to the dv7 which, along with the Dolby Advanced Audio and Altec Lansing speakers available on all Pavilion models, comes with Corel PaintShop Photo Pro X3 and Corel VideoStudio Pro X3.
