PRESS RELEASE

Ross Holt appointed to take advantage of key growth area

Basingstoke: 12 August 2016: - Exertis, a leading distributor of technology products for the B2B, mobile and retail markets, today announced the appointment of Ross Holt to the newly created role of Exertis head of PC gaming. The position reflects the importance Exertis places on the PC gaming market and the opportunities for growth this year with the launch of exciting new games titles, the availability of VR headsets and the increased demand for digital content delivery. Holt will report to Mark Reynolds, Exertis IT commercial director with a dotted line to Alex Croft, Exertis Home sales and commercial director.

“Exertis is already recognised as the leading gaming distributor in the UK providing a comprehensive range of gaming consoles, PC gaming hardware, gaming monitors, software, accessories and components. We have a great end to end proposition for our retail customers and best of breed products for our system integrators. Ross’ role is to work with the relevant business units across the Exertis group to pull the PC gaming proposition together and thus ensuring that our customers can take advantage of this excellent growth opportunity” said Reynolds.

The PC gaming market was worth £24bn in 2015 and by the end of 2016, PC game sales are expected to reach £31.5bn*. In addition, VR is expecting to achieve £62bn by the end of 2025 (£35bn for hardware and £27bn for software)**. VR will also impact the PC hardware market with only 1% of PCs in use globally expected to be powerful enough to run the technology according to NVIDIA.

“Exertis is uniquely positioned in this market. We have all the components that can build or upgrade a gamers PC to successfully run VR; we have VR ready PCs from leading vendors like Asus, MSI & Acer; we have a great range of peripherals and accessories and we also have a digital content delivery service within the group which is predicting great growth. My role is to deepen this portfolio into our existing customers, help new entrants take advantage of the market and provide promotional roadmaps.” said Holt.

Holt has over 14 years in distribution experience and was previously retail category manager for Exertis for the last 6 years, managing relationships with the major supermarkets.

Exertis is the number one distributor on all its ranged PC brands, with exclusivity on Dell AlienWare and Medion, and also for key vendors like NVIDIA, Thrustmaster, Corsair, Seagate and WD external storage. It also distributes Samsung Gear in the VR market and is the exclusive distributor for Xbox.
