Presentation, Bundle and Manual

Presentation is to Shuttle's usual high standards.

The usual box gets the SB61G2 treatment with confirmation of i865G chipset and the feature set.

Bundle

The bundle contents are sparse, but that's no bad thing since all the main points of interest lie in the Shuttle unit itself. You get an ATA ribbon, floppy ribbon and a SATA cable, to compliment the existing ATA cable pre-installed for you. The manuals for the FB61 motherboard and the entire SB61G2 itself are obligatory, as are screws, tie-wraps, power splitter and CD-ROM with drivers and minor software applications.

The CD-ROM of drivers and software is well engineered. Having loaded your operating system, pop the CD in your installed CD drive and click the Install Mainboard Software button. The CD, having identified your Shuttle model, then knows exactly what drivers you need installing for whatever operating system you happen to be running. You're offered the choice of taking advantage of that facility, or you can proceed manually and install drivers at your will.

Manuals

The manuals are well written, especially that for the XPC itself. It's a dual language manual, English and Chinese, but it certainly doesn't suffer for it, whoever was responsible for its layout having done that job very well. The presentation, bundle and manuals are a Shuttle highlight. It's never hard to set one up and that's partly down to the factors outlined above.
