Benchmarks: CPU

The 4.4GHz overclock might not be the highest we've seen on a Scan PC, but it matters not; an Ivy Bridge processor running at above-reference speeds is blazing fast. We consider anything less than 20 seconds to be fast, so all of these high-end machines offer blistering CPU performance.

The Cinebench benchmark puts every available CPU core to work, and in this test the premium hexa-core or Core i7 machines have a clear edge over quad-core, Core i5 Ivy Bridge.

But don't let the lack of extra cores or hyper threading put you off. Any system that pairs a high-end Ivy Bridge processor with a capable SATA 6Gbps SSD will deliver outstanding performance during everyday use. The Scan 3XS Z77 Performance Q10 feels incredibly quick and the machine's capabilities are underlined by a silver medal in the PCMark 7 benchmark.
