Benchmarks: CPU
By hook or by crook, Intel has managed to stay relevant in the mid-range space. Core i5-11600K has the edge on Ryzen 5 5600X in the lightly-threaded PiFast test, and though the Ryzen takes the lead in the other three CPU benchmarks, both chips can be deemed reasonably well-matched.
There are perhaps other, more-pressing factors to consider.. The Intel part is aggressively priced at retail - £250 vs. £300 for the rival Ryzen - but carries a much higher 125W TDP, compared to just 65W for the efficient AMD part. Having a choice is certainly no bad thing.
