12V performance

We're putting the Rosewill up against some very stern competition by comparing the electrical performance against a host of 80 PLUS Platinum supplies that are inherently better and more expensive. Such a comparison enables us to see the differences in quality and, more importantly, if they have a bearing on the type of PSU you should consider.

The ideal scenario is to have these numbers as close to 12V as possible. There's certainly more regulation variation with the Rosewill, which is to be expected, but undervolting by just over one per cent when meting out 1,000W is more than acceptable.

Cross-loads are harder for a PSU to deal with because voltage is being concurrently applied to different rails at one time. Think of it as loading up your CPU, graphics and peripherals all in one go - a worst-case scenario.

Cross-load 1 puts almost all of the capacity down the throat of the 12V line while also stressing the 3.3V/5V lines with a couple of amps. The reverse is true of cross-load 2.

The upshot, in terms of regulation, is voltage straying a little farther away from the perfect 12V. Anything to get concerned about with the Rosewill? The answer is no.
