Introduction

Gigabyte K8N51GMF-9 nForce 430/GeForce 6100 motherboard

We recently took a look at the first C51G motherboard from NVIDIA. Supporting S939 processors at the outset and offering integrated graphics as standard, it built on the foundations laid down by previous iterations of nForce4 boards. Foxconn provided us with a look at their C51G effort which encompassed nForce 430 and GeForce 6150 chipests. Now, a few weeks later, Gigabyte steps up to the plate with its budget version, featuring the same nForce 430 southbridge but, on this occasion, with the GeForce 6100 IGP.

What Gigabyte's aiming to do is to bring the total cost of S939 ownership down a peg or two. Integrated video on a £50-ish motherboard will reduce the price of S939 PC entry substantially. The question is, is it worth putting your shortlist?. Let's find out.
