X1600 physical exam

Brace yourselves for the mind-blowing difference in appearance between the X1300 and X1600...

GeCube X1600 HDMI

...Or lack thereof.

At least around the back there are some differences. There are four memory chips instead of two; lower density, higher speed GDDR2.

The X1300's cooler is good enough for X1600 too, clearly.

The bracket is identical to the X1300 as well.

There's Ruby again, showing off her midriff... what would her mother say? Still, at least she's RoHS compliant.

Goodness me, there appears to be an extra piece of paper in the bundle! It's an addendum to the user manual explaining the S/PDIF connections that can be made internally or externally. Once again there's also a driver disc, HDMI-to-DVI-D dongle and a S/PDIF-In adapter.

Cabling's exactly the same as the X1300, with component, S-Video/composite and HDMI all bundled in.

The more expensive product, then, has the same bundle. It would have been nice if GeCube had thrown in something extra, perhaps a game, or some DVD playback software, or a voucher... something. In fairness, the bundles for both cards have the connectivity needed to get video sent out to an HDMI display.
