Card and Bundle

I opened the packaging when this arrived with a bit of excitement having been tempted to change an ageing I845D board for one of the Albatron boards before swapping to my current Shuttle system. Now was going to be my first experience with one of their products.

Snazzy dare I say !! A metalic Cerise coloured box with a nice picture of the Medusa on the front. Fortunately I didn't turn to stone when I gazed at it.

The back as expected give all the technical specs for the card. Here's what the card looks like.

When I opened the box and pulled the card out I had to check my facts twice as this wasn't like Ti4200's I've had in the past, it was the size of a Ti4600. The 8 layer PCB makes the general feel of the card more substantial. So I can forgive myself.

What did notice straight away was the distinctive low profile copper cooler with the GeForce 4 and AGP 8x labels pressed into its aluminium cover along with the ramsinks right next to its fins ensuring some airflow though them.

The normal connectors are here, VGA,DVI and TV-Out.

As with the 4xAGP little brother the Ti4200 Turbo reviewed here

in the comprehensive Ti4200 Shootout, the TV-Out is controlled by the SAA7104E chip.

The contents of the box are exactly the same comprising of an S-Video-to-RCA converter, S-VHS extension lead, RCA extension lead, The driver CD, Motocross Mania, Serious Sam, WinDVD, and Manual.
