Aliens vs. Predator

Aliens vs. Predator

The standalone Aliens vs. Predator benchmark uses DX11 features such as hardware tessellation and advanced shadow sampling to draw and animate everyone's favourite xenomorph.

The two bars denote both GPUs running at the same clocks. We've also added in a super-duper-clocked GTX 560 Ti, to show that there's decent headroom in the new part.

Here's a like-for-like percentage comparison at the three resolutions:

 Comparison (GTX 560 Ti faster) 1,680x1,050  1,920x1,080  2,560x1,600
 Faster/slower (per cent) +10.6  +10.9 +13.3

Comparing clock-for-clock performance shows that the GTX 560 Ti enjoys an average lead of 11.6 per cent over the three resolutions. Appreciating that it has 14.3 per increase in shader count - 384 vs. 336 - the numbers are just about right, as the GTX 460 matches the newer card in most other respects.
