Crysis Warhead

The one game that can bring all GPUs to their knees, Crysis is set to Gamer quality and benchmarked through the Frost map.

This is the closest we come to seeing the Radeon HD 6970 topple the GeForce GTX 580.

 Comparison at 25x16 GTX 580  GTX 570   HD 5870  HD 6950
 Faster/slower (per cent)  -0.6  +16.3  +40  +10.4

 Comparison at 25x16 GTX 570  GTX 470   HD 5870  HD 6970
 Faster/slower (per cent)  +5.3  +28.3  +26.8  -9.4

And the HD 6950 puts up a quality showing here, too. We reckon the double-sized frame-buffer is finally paying dividends at the 2,560x1,600 resolution.

Multi-GPU setups are found wanting at the super-high resolution, giving further credence to the thinking that the frame-buffer is a limiting factor here.
