Lost Planet: Extreme Condition

There's no antaliasing in our Lost Planet: Extreme Condition test, and it's only playable at 1280x720.

The performance numbers show that £50 will buy you a graphics card that can just cut it at 1,280x1,024/720 if you turn the image-quality settings down to, say, medium. Raising that resolution to a 20in- 22in-friendly 1,680x1,050 and wanting to enjoy first-person shooters, you'll need to dial the image-quality settings down to minimal, really.

Both Radeon HD 3650's performance is comparable to a Radeon HD 2600 XT GDDR3's, as they're practically the same underneath. NVIDIA's GeForce 8600 GT 256's architecture isn't as strong on paper but does hold up well under benchmark scrutiny.

Let's now review the value proposition.
