1MB of L2 cache cannot help enough in overcoming other efficiency deficits. That's why the Prescott 3.4GHz lags just behind a regular Northwood. The 2MB-equipped Extreme Edition struts its stuff. It even manages to just nick first place from AMD's Athlon 64 powerhouse CPUs.

Things take a turn for the worse in Comanche 4. We noticed that in our initial review, and we see the same lack of performance here. A regular 3.4GHz Northwood is almost 20% faster. Food for thought.

A little better in X² The Threat, which is run at a lower resolution to place more load on the subsystem.
