Notes

A straight shootout betweeen AMD and Intel's top three K8 and Northwood CPUs (E.E edition excluded). That's about all there is to say, really.

An AMD Athlon 64 Model 3200+ in disguise?.

Overclocking

Testing was carried out on an EPoX 8HDA3+ VIA K8T800 motherboard. The unlocked nature of the PCI bus is an immediate stalling point. Our sample wasn't particularly receptive to increases in voltage and memory speed. 2.2GHz was stable enough for most benchmarks, although we settled for a touch below, mainly with respect to long-term stability.
